Another Year Wiser, Stronger and more Consistent

Every year when my birthday comes around I am amazed at how fast the year flew by. My birthday is in February, just about the time when new year resolutions are either going well or you are at the point of giving up and moving on. It is easy to look at the past and thought that you achieved nothing tangible. Look on the positive side, you are here today – you have the opportunity to re-frame your narrative. You are so much more than you think, you held it together for your family and friends. Take time to reflect on the past year, you may be surprised at what you find. Last year I believed I became wiser, stronger and more consistent.

Wiser

With age comes wisdom, they say youth is wasted in the young . There may be some truth to that but with time we learn and become wiser. Every year that passes I give thanks for the wisdom I gaineed through my experiences. Sometimes I fail and I learn from the failures, sometimes I succeed and I try to replicate the steps that led to my success. This is part of life, we are not stagnant, we change and eveolve with every experience.

Stronger

How do you measure strength? I measure strength by my ability to endure lifes hardships and coming out stronger on the other end. The last two years was difficult for many of us, surviving the pandemic made us mentally and emotionally stronger. My mental and emotional strength comes from my faith and a strong belief that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I am physically stronger by exercising daily and eating the right foods. So many things contribute to how strong we feel, we just need to tap in that inner resource and project our resilience.

Consistent

This year my goal is to become more consistent in committing to play, work and enjoy the small moments of joy. I looked back and saw lots of times when I was consistent. My dedication to my faith, my family and my job was steady all year. Of course there is room for improvement, I could be more consistent with exercise, eating healthier and keeping in touch with friends. I get better each year, I dont beat myself up when I make a mistake. I learn and move on. There is so much to be thankful for, I am grateful for every opportunity I get to be better. Walk good.
